A full-time permanent opportunity as a Team Leader – Operations Engineering has become available in the Northam Regional Office.
Reporting to the Manager Operations Support Goldfields & Agricultural Region this is a dynamic role that provides leadership, coordination, and direction to the GAR Operations Engineering Team. The team is made up of diverse disciplines of Civil, Mechanical and Electrical.
This team provides key support to a frontline operational team working across all areas of Water and Wastewater assets within the Goldfields, Agriculture and Wheatbelt.
The focus of the role is to lead, plan and manage the functions of the team including working with key stakeholders across the business to meet the required business outcomes to deliver value to our customers and community.
This position will suit collaborative person who is experienced in leading and managing a diverse high performing team to meet commitments and effectively prioritise to maximise outcomes.
Key Responsibility:
People Management - Optimise the management, development, and deployment of people to ensure the team has the capability to deliver required business outcomes now and in the future.
Safety - Demonstrate leadership by ensuring all work is undertaken with safety as the priority, where no injury is considered acceptable, and all activities are undertaken without compromising health and safety.
Technical Support - Provide technical input regarding operations and maintenance matters (civil, mechanical, and electrical).
Asset Investigations- Lead the team to investigate and analysis faults, failures and performance of water and wastewater assets including recommendation of cost-effective solutions. Ensures the risks associated with identified assets (critical assets and capital upgrades) are assessed and addressed. Provide input into the prioritisation of work.
Stakeholder Management - Foster strong relationships with operations and influence other key stakeholders (engineering, planning, project management and asset performance).
Experience and Qualifications:
Considerable Experience at a supervisor or Team Leader level leading a team of professional or a team of operators.
OR
Either a tertiary level qualification in an engineering related discipline and substantial experience in a large engineering-based organisation, related to the planning, design or operations and maintenance or replacement of water and wastewater assets.
Ideally, you will possess the following skills:
Demonstrated sound knowledge of water and wastewater assets systems.
Has the capability to manage and prioritise the team deliver outcomes for the business.
Possesses well developed conceptual and analytical skills.
Exercises advanced interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
Has well developed verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates the values and behaviours that contribute to a constructive, high-performance culture.
