About the Role
The Faculty of Engineering and IT (FEIT) is currently recruiting for a Human-centric Artificial Intelligence Centre (HAIC) Operations Lead. Joining a team of cutting-edge data scientists and engineers, the UTS HAIC Operations Lead will be part of a group delivering exciting new artificial intelligence solutions that will transform Australian businesses, deliver value for Australian people and pioneer amazing new science directions.
This role is responsible for developing, administering and streamlining UTS HAIC administrative systems, processes and procedures. The Operations Lead's responsibility is to maximise the operational efficiency of a cutting-edge industry-facing research team. The Operations Lead will enable over ten researchers to deliver impact in highly-applied artificial intelligence activities and will ensure outcomes align with UTS strategic objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, administering and streamlining UTS HAIC administrative systems, processes & procedures to align with UTS Policy and Process
- Managing relevant UTS approval processes for ongoing and emerging activities within UTS HAIC related to contracting, procurement, ethics, external communications and grant submissions
- •dentifying, communicating and supporting cross sector grant opportunities and guiding grant application processes
- Coordinating and assisting the development of research proposals and the writing of research papers/reports by coordinating tasks, which involve compiling, revising, and proofreading in English
- Financial management & expenditure reconciliation and reporting on behalf of the Director
- Management of an up-to-date directory of UTS HAIC staff biographies and project activity summaries, suitable for inclusion in funding proposals and for inclusion in external communications

- Demonstrated superior written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with a range of staff at various levels across the Faculty and the University.
- Proven capacity to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures.
- Proven capacity in research proposals and papers compiling, revising, and proofreading.
- Ability to review, design and implement processes to improve efficiency across a range of functions.
- Experience in research operations in a tertiary sector environment.
- Experience generating, summarising, analysing and reporting data in a clear and efficient manner
Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $100,695 to $111,394 pa (HEW 7)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and the appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 24 months.
