An opportunity has arisen for a Operations Manager to join our Head office located in Truganina.
About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager who is passionate about leading teams to production success. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and rollout products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy. You will be responsible for managing a set of teams, outcomes and product lines across our business.
In this position you will be reporting directly to the Managing Director and will oversee the operations of the Manufacturing, Logistics, Warehouse and Improvements teams. The teams run through 3 shifts over a period of 24h a day for 5 days a week. You will work closely with other managers and schedulers.
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Develop and implement strategic improvements to production, quality and labour efficiency.
- Provide leadership to ensure effective and efficient resources use, including but not limited to, plant, personnel and equipment.
- Investigate innovative manufacturing processes and collaborate with all Departments in the implementation of improvements.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles in designing and validating world class manufacturing processes that achieve organisational goals.
- Ensure Manufacturing, Warehouse and Logistics operates at peak efficiency with customer satisfaction the primary goal, by managing, organising, and training employees and establishing, monitoring and managing operational goals.
- Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards, policies and procedures and by complying with legal regulations.
- Oversee work output reports and lost time, and implement plans to improve.
- Oversee training plan, to ensure the company is well equipped with adequate skilled staff, allowing for absenteeism and Holidays.
- Mentor and coach the Management Team to ensure team is in line with company culture and goals.
- Ensure staff are fully aware of their performance in output, quality and efficiency at regular feedback catch-ups.
- Conduct workflow meeting in the morning to ensure the previous work performed was conducted as planned. Use feedback to assess and plan for future shifts. The activity is expected to take into consideration machinery and staff availability, and products required to be manufactured, as well as other aspects.
- Assess results data considering planned budget to ensure plans are adequate. Adjust plans and budgeting accordingly to meet required KPIs and goals.
- Work collaboratively and closely with other Senior Managers to ensure all business needs are met.
Experience:
- Min 5 years experience in a Managerial Role in Manufacturing.
- Experience with Priority is desirable.
- Proficiency in MS package.
- Management experience in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to lead meetings, training, and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant field.
- Lean Manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Qualification in management and leadership is highly desirable.
