What you’ll do:
- Lead and inspire a team of supervisors to ensure they’re focused on achieving operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the operations team, encouraging feedback and implementing best practices.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Monitor and analyse operational performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and ensure operational efficiency across the organization.
- Make safety your number one priority and ensure everyone's working in a safe environment.
- Manage operational budgets, including forecasting, tracking expenses, and optimising resource allocation.
- Serve as a point of contact for escalations and resolve operational issues in a timely and effective manner.
Skills and experience required:
- Proven experience leading blue-collar teams
- An entrepreneurial mindset
- Waste Management or similar industry experience
- Computer skills - proficiency in MS Office suite
- Teamwork – work across multiple departments and build relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to resolve problems effectively and effectively
- Proven ability to be agile in a fast-paced environment with conflicting deadlines
