Specialised Animal Nutrition Pty Ltd (SAN) is an importing, distribution, and brand management business supplying premium herbivore nutrition products to wholesalers, vet clinics, pet shops, and rescues across the country.
Position Overview:
As our Operations Manager, you'll be pivotal in overseeing our day-to-day activities. Reporting directly to the Directors, you'll manage our operations, including importing, inventory, logistics, customer service, team leadership, and process improvement. We are specifically looking for a highly organized professional, who is very tech-capable, happy in a small business environment, and who loves getting in and getting the job done (including operating the walkie stacker and packing/lifting 20kg boxes if the need arises.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all operational activities, including importing, warehousing, order fulfillment, customer service, promotional events and associated websites, ERP system, and e-commerce platforms.
- Lead and motivate a small team of admin and warehouse staff, providing guidance and support for high productivity and job satisfaction.
- Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to ensure timely inventory delivery and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with Directors to develop and implement strategic plans for business growth.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical business practices.
- Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance efficiency and streamline workflows.
- Oversee health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with regulations and a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Previous experience in a similar operations management role, preferably in a small business/family business environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire staff to achieve targets.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Able to troubleshoot technical issues with printers, computers, and websites.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and processes.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
