Across its network of hostels, dedicated Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL) staff provide accommodation and meals for residents in a supportive environment, assisted by local First Nations service providers and referral agencies.

AHL has a vacancy for a motivated and experienced individual to join AHL as the Top End Operations Manager. Based in Darwin and reporting to the Director Frontline Services, the Operations Manager will be critical to the organisation in overseeing the operations of a number of hostels in the Northern Territory. We require a customer service champion, who can support our hostel management to provide excellent customer service for our First Nations residents.

The successful candidate will have strong team leader skills and an ability to interpret policies and procedures and ensure hostel teams are meeting these. Stakeholder engagement skills are a must to ensure our hostels achieve high occupancy levels.
Under the direction of the Director Frontline Services, duties and responsibilities include:
- Lead and deliver high quality accommodation services to AHL residents.
- Lead a high performing team to deliver quality customer services.
- Ensure financial management, performance and administration is maintained.
- Ensure appropriate facilities management of assets and property within the region is maintained.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders.
- Create a safety culture where work is undertaken and aligned to Work Health Safety policies, procedures and legislation.
- The successful applicant must be willing and able to travel to AHL sites across Australia as required.
Experience and Training
2-3 years of relevant/transferrable experience within any of the below environments would be highly regarded:
- Not for Profit organisations;
- Residential facilities;
- Hospitality; and/or
- Frontline Services including health, education, disability, and community services.
Eligibility
Prior to engagement, you will need to:
- Provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
- Undergo and satisfy a National Criminal History Check.
- Meet Fitness for Duty requirements.
- Hold and maintain a Working with Children Chech in the NT.
- Hold or obtain relevant qualifications.
