Role Overview
As the Operations Manager in WA, your primary objective is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our WA-based business. You will oversee various critical aspects, including production, quality control, inventory management, resource allocation, and process improvement. Your role is pivotal in optimising processes, minimising costs, maximising productivity, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager to develop and execute strategies that align with the State’s projected turnover.
- Work closely with the Production Manager to monitor manufacturing activities, ensuring project deadlines are met and effective communication with clients.
- Lead and motivate operational teams, providing direction, coaching, and training to foster a high-performing and engaged workforce.
- Proactively identify problems, bottlenecks, and workflow impediments, taking remedial action in collaboration with department heads.
- Implement process improvements to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
- Report project status encountered challenges, and propose remedial actions to General Manager weekly.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to operations, health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Oversee inventory levels, procurement, and distribution, balancing stock availability while minimising excess inventory costs.
- Continuously improve company procedures and policies.
- Cultivate strong customer relations through proactive management and effective communication.
- Prepare and deliver periodic reports to the management team.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Essential: Tertiary studies in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Background in construction and/or services.
- Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in business administration, operations management, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Ideally, a background in several of the following areas:
- Operations management (Industrial electrical equipment)
- Process optimisation
- Inventory control
- Resource allocation
- Quality assurance
- Compliance management
