Are you a Senior Leader in Mental Health looking to deliver perinatal mental health care in a flagship, world-class facility? Catherine's House for Mother's, Babies and Families (CHMBF) is Australia's first integrated perinatal mental healthcare centre and has a newly created position for an Operational Manager.
The Operational Manager will be responsible for all work units and programs within Catherine's House and have responsibilities across the broader integrated health and mental health services at Mater.
Catherine's House provides:
- 8 public (state wide) and 2 private inpatient beds
- Public outpatient and community programs
- Private and public day programs
- Specialist private consulting suites
- Service innovation and research program
This is a newly created, permanent and full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager, Young Adult & Mental Health Services and will also work closely with the Director of Catherine's House.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and salary packaging
What you'll be doing
As the Catherine's HouseOperations Manager, typical tasks include:
- Responsible for the delivery of mental health programs
- Lead a large multidisciplinary team (nursing, medical, allied health, peer work, support services, administration)
- Reporting against KPIs
- Dealing and managing escalations from service units in Catherine's house
- Responsible for developing strategic plans for the work unit
- Develop business plans for the work unit
- Actively participate in state-wide perinatal mental health networks
- Identify and explore state-wide opportunities to expand perinatal mental health services
- Focus on consumer participation
- Build partnerships with government and non-government services
- Manage a significant budget across multiple cost centres and funding models
- Seek grant funding for programs and research
- Manage workforce issues impacting on budget
- Manage donor relationships with Mater Foundation
- Manage organisational risk within a quality and safety framework
- Bachelor degree in a health-related discipline such as Nursing or Allied Health
- Qualification in health service management, business, or project management is desirable
- Current AHPRA registration
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a multi-disciplinary team and complex organisational environment
- Advanced knowledge of legislative requirements and governance of delivering mental health and perinatal mental health services
- Demonstrate high level mental health clinical and systemic knowledge
- Advanced experience in a senior clinician capacity within a mental health / perinatal mental health environment
- Demonstrated experience working within a leadership capacity
