Your new role
• Develop and implement comprehensive camp management strategies that align with company policies and regulations
• Oversee all camp services (300 pax camp), including sewage treatment plant, water treatment plant, catering, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and Town
infrastructure (77 houses)
• Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and security within the camp by implementing and enforcing all necessary protocols and procedures
• Manage the Camp and Town budget and resources effectively, optimising costs while maintaining service quality. This includes conducting full staff review, updating PDs with clear and measurable accountabilities, reviewing the asset register, and forecasting capital works
• Develop monthly forecasts for accommodation utilisation and track them against actual usage
• Recruit, train, and lead a highly motivated team of Camp and Town personnel,
fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
• Build strong relationships with all stakeholders, including mining operations,
contractors, and local communities. This includes reviewing and updating all supply agreements with clients and establishing and managing a Coppabella Community Council to hear and address the needs of the town
• Proactively identify and address potential risks and challenges, implementing
solutions to maintain a smooth and productive operation. Ensure compliance with all Australian Standards
• Communicate effectively and openly with all levels of management, providing regular updates and reports on Camp and Town performance.
• Identify, track, and update management on all compliance issues and risks and develop plans to ensure camp compliance in all areas
 

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following experience and qualifications:
• Formal Business Management or similar qualification (desired)
• Trade Qualification – eg: Carpenter, Electrician, Plumber etc
• Current QLD Drivers Licence – “C” Class and or above
• Extensive experience working within leadership and management roles
• Solid previous history as an Operations manager is essential. Strong people
management skills are essential
• High level of contract management and negotiation
• Working knowledge of HR & IR management and processes
• Must be honest and always act ethically and with integrity
• Exposure to budgeting, accounting practices, project planning and execution
• Knowledge of the WHS Act and Regulations and other relevant Government
legislation
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems via the use of data analysis and consultation/ collaboration with advanced critical reasoning skills
• High level of emotional intelligence with an ability to understand people, their drivers and how to motivate/guide them toward achieving desired outcomes/company goals
• Proven interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate to all levels and foster a positive workplace
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Well-developed computing skills.
• Exposure to managing multiple teams across multiple sites and client relationships will be highly regarded
• Effective communication, networking and negotiation skills with the ability to achieve successful outcomes
• Ability to work autonomously, with effective time management and diligence
• Knowledge and experience in organisational effectiveness and operations
management

• You will be required to reside on-site in your own company-provided housing (NOT shared accommodation) and work Monday to Friday. You will also be expected to be available for on-call urgent/emergency issues on weekends
