Our dynamic retirement living team has a senior opportunity for a people centric and commercially astute Operations Manager to join their leadership team.

Blue Care operate over 35 retirement villages across Queensland, with more than 3,300 residents choosing to make a Blue Care communities their home.

Your part in the Blue Care team

Reporting to the General Manager, Retirement Living, the role will lead a team of Village Managers and manage a portfolio to ensure exceptional service standards to residents. You will oversee and maintain operations including asset maintenance, financial management, resident satisfaction, quality improvement and system compliance to ensure smooth operational conduct and to connect key stakeholders. This position facilitates a program of work and team engagement to achieve consistent management.

A day in the role will involve:
Accountable for overseeing operational performance of the villages, maintaining high performance and ensuring improvements where required
Ensure Managers are providing high level customer service, including designing and implementing feedback loops to assess performance of managers
Responsible for supporting managers to address resident concerns
Ensure that all legislative requirements are being met
Undertake regular audits and inspections of villages to assure standards are maintained.
Monitor and manage expenditure to ensure it is within budgetary requirements
On boarding, development and performance management of direct reports
Provide positive guidance and establish clear reporting lines through Village Managers to resident committees/residents and act as a resource for Village Managers

You are an experienced leader and enjoys driving operational success. Your ability to build strong stakeholder relationship and actively develop and motivate a team to achieve goals will provide a strong start in the role. You will also present:

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
Experience in the management of multi-site portfolio within hotel or retirement village operations.
Understanding of the Retirement Villages Act (Qld) 1999 and the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008.
Proven strong track record managing financial compliance including creation and management of retirement village budgets.
Highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation skills with residents and external contractors.
