We do more than collect the bin from your street, we also convert waste into clean energy, divert food waste from landfill and convert to compost, manufacture customised waste management equipment, asbestos removal, refine and recycle oil, manage and maintain our fleet inhouse and have our own bespoke technology systems.

THE ROLE
As an Operations Manager you will lead our site on the Cassowary Coast / Innisfail. The main responsibility of this role is to lead our team to effectively manage daily operational goals for our various contracts in the region.
This role calls for a ‘hands-on’ and tenacious leader who is driven to succeed through team engagement and an understanding of principles that underpin excellence in transport operations.
You will be working with a safe, modern and reliable fleet, serviced and maintained in our on-site workshops.
We are an essential services industry, offering stability to employees and reliability to our customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist and lead operations on a day to day basis
- Support and lead a team of drivers
- Willingness to drive a truck regularly
- Establish and manage relationships with customers, team members and stakeholders
- Mentor and train your team
- Coordinate and optimise fleet activities - agile and flexible
- Comply with laws, regulations and requirements including OH&S with an understanding of return to work processes
- Identify enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement
ABOUT YOU
- Have a current HR (Heavy Rigid) License - or willing to get one!
- Able to mentor and advocate for employee engagement
- Experience in transport, logistics or service industry
- Drive and hunger to build a team environment and thriving culture
- Demonstrated experience in management processes including associated administrative components
- Well-developed people skills, with solid time management
- KPI focused with the ability to perform under pressure
- Provide up to date driving records at interview stage
- Able to successfully satisfy a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing
