As the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our day-to-day operations and ensuring the highest standards of service, safety, and efficiency.
About Us: GBR Tours is a family-owned company renowned for providing the best scuba diving and snorkeling liveaboard experiences on the Great Barrier Reef. We are dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for our guests, whether they're passionate about diving, snorkeling, or simply enjoying the boat's amenities.
Position Overview: As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance and operation of our vessels (Reef Experience and Reef Encounter), implementing workplace health and safety procedures, overseeing employees and resources, and making strategic decisions. You will work closely with the Director to ensure the success of GBR Tours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to a high-performance team, fostering a supportive work environment and promoting innovation
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and industry standards
- Oversee vessel maintenance, quality control, and coordination with suppliers
- Collaborate with the Dive & Snorkel Manager to enhance dive quality and staffing
- Manage recruitment processes for vessel crew members and maintain effective resource management
- Contribute to financial planning and control, including negotiating insurances and managing budgets
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a similar management role
- Proven experience in the Marine Tourism Industry
- Master 5 & MED 2 ideal, but not necessary
Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in computer literacy and time management
- Attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
