About the role:
Perth Gymnastics Academy is looking for a passionate, driven and reliable Operations Manager to implement our strategic plan and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our busy and fast-growing gymnastics club.
The Operations Manager will be immersed in the club, maintaining a strong focus and commitment to building Perth Gymnastics Academy’s professional reputation and success, while continuing to develop our strong member community and the many partnerships that we have nurtured to date.
Reporting directly to the Board, the Operations Manager is responsible for:
Developing, managing and implementing plans to grow the club’s operations by developing strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including members and athletes, staff, volunteers sponsors, sporting associations and Government bodies.
- Leadership, culture and staff development.
- Gymnastics program development and support.
- Effective management of the club’s equipment and facilities.
- Financial management and revenue growth, including events, sponsorship, grants, and fundraising.
About you:
You are an experienced business leader with high emotional intelligence, exceptional communication skills and a strong customer-service focus that will help you to foster positive and trusting relationships with the club’s many stakeholders and ensure that all staff and members uphold the values of the club.
A strategic thinker with good financial acumen, you are also able to identify, nurture and secure business development opportunities, with sustainable growth and member value front of mind. Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy, you demonstrate effective prioritisation and problem skills, and strong attention to detail, helping you to effectively manage operational business requirements and deliver strong commercial outcomes.

Essential skills and experience:
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with staff, members and other stakeholders by setting clear goals and delivering on promises.
- Demonstrated experience in managing workplace health and safety, and identifying and mitigating risk.
- Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling tools.
- A strong grasp of business financial management.
- Events management experience or willingness to learn
- The ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings as required to ensure the facility is ready to host gymnastics events and functions.
- An understanding of gymnastics and or other sporting programs is desirable, but not essential.
