Creating a brighter future for life in the Tropics and beyond, through education and research that makes a difference locally, and globally, James Cook University (JCU) is looking to appoint an Operations Officer for the JCU Central Queensland Centre for Rural and Remote Health. This full-time, fixed-term contract is based at the new Centre in Emerald.
WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE
As an integral part of our dynamic and innovative team, you will facilitate procurement, financial, administrative and customer services for the Centre ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures. Supporting both the Operations Manager and Director of the CQCRRH you will ensure they are appropriately supported in their roles whilst providing training, mentoring and coaching to other Centre administrative staff.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
You will be highly organised with an ability to work on multiple projects at once using effective problem-solving skills, initiative and judgement, you will exercise confidentiality and sensitivity across a range of issues in a dynamic and complex environment. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and liaise with staff across all levels will also be essential to succeed in this diverse and rewarding role.
ABOUT THE CENTRAL QUEENSLAND CENTRE FOR RURAL AND REMOTE HEALTH
The newly formed JCU Central Queensland Centre for Rural and Remote Health is a federally funded University Department of Rural Health, one of a national network of sixteen funded by the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training program as a health workforce strategy. The CQCRRH has a broad range of responsibilities within the remote and rural health sector including developing a health workforce for the future.
