As a result of an internal promotion, we have an opportunity to join our ARC Dandenong branch as an Operations Supervisor!
With 14 direct reports, you will hold a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of day-to-day manufacturing operations. Operating across two shifts, this site predominantly processes reinforcing bar. Your primary focus will be managing and empowering production staff, enhancing employee performance, optimising production input & output while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Your priorities include:
• Managing a team of Operators and Team Leaders
• Ensuring all WHS management system requirements are met and safety standards are maintained
• Leading and managing the shift to ensure the production and output KPIs are met
• Collaborating with key internal stakeholders
• Identifying and reporting on opportunities for improvement initiatives
• Allocating appropriate manning and ensuring employees are trained, fit, qualified, and competent to effectively run operationsAbout your experience
We are seeking an experienced leader with a strong background in people management within manufacturing or associated heavy industries. Your expertise in robust safety practices, fostering relationships and adapting to changing priorities will be essential.
You will also have:
• High-level problem-solving, conflict resolution, and people management skills
• Proven experience supervising or managing large teams in manufacturing or relevant industries
• Proficiency in using computer systems, including Microsoft Suite
• Solid understanding of safety management systems and cultivating a safety culture
• Strong time management, organisation and communication skills
