An experienced Administration Officer to join a well established company in their Mackay Office

Your new company

With 40 years of experience and knowledge, this Australian-owned company plays a vital role in the flexible pavement industry across Queensland and New South Wales. With a fleet of over 400 vehicles and mobile plant, they offer services such as Crumb Rubber mixes, Foam Bitumen Stabilisation, Road Profiling, and more. Their commitment to quality work and community engagement

Your new role
In this role you will find yourself carrying out duties including, but not limited to;

  • General administrative tasks as directed
  • Ensuring all costs associated with jobs databases are current
  • Being a point of contact for a range of staff and external stakeholders
  • Job Tracker Database maintenance Including entering and updating Jobs
  • Liaise with multiple departments to ensure timely receipting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide administrative support to the Operations Managers, Project Engineers, Supervisors and Foreman
  • Updating of databases, spreadsheets and registers for contracting operations, including Lot Submission Register
  • Maintenance and updating of spreadsheets and registers including Stock Control, Material Reconciliation, Tonnage Reports, Client Sales Deliveries & Client Billing

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will require the following;

  • The ability to work independently and within a team 
  • Experienced at composing communications and proofreading documentation
  • Substantial knowledge and experience utilising Excel Spreadsheet and MS Suites
  • 2+ years' experience in administration with the ability to deliver varied tasks requiring independent judgement.
  • Effective planning and organising skills with the ability to deliver on simultaneous projects with competing priorities
  • High-level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to foster strong working relationships

What you'll get in return

The successful candidate will be offered an immediate start working in a fast-paced office in Mackay Harbour, providing administration support from Mackay to Townsville. You will be offered an attractive hourly rate of $35/hr + Super, working Monday to Friday 730am till 330pm with an initial 6-month temporary contract with Hays and the opportunity to go permanent after that.
