We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Operations Team Lead at our Eagle Farm office. This position will be responsible for coordinating the flow of material for our client from Global Locations to Papua New Guinea whilst also ensuring that all aspects of the supply chain are managed efficiently and effectively from receipt of order from the customer’s Buying Department through to receipt at final destination. The fundamental responsibilities of this role include:
- Effectively manage the day to day operational requirements of our client, liaising with overseas offices to coordinate shipments (courier, Air, FCL, LCL, OOG)
- Produce and maintain client SOP’s ensuring that all requirements are communicated and known to all relevant internal and external stakeholders. The Lead should also review the SOP on a regular basis with our clients Logistics Manager to ensure accuracy and relevance is maintained
- Manage the appointed expeditor, ensuring customer POs are continuously followed up and lead times are achieved
- Maintaining up to date communication, efficiently providing guidance and shipment/enquiry status
- Ensuring all client KPI’s are achieved and information is processed through SAP and Insight in an efficient manner
- Verifying cargoes suitability for international transport and making relevant arrangements should the freight require repacking or fumigation
- Acting as an escalation point for client issues, resolving all queries in a timely and efficient manner
- Timely and accurately completing export clearances and preparing export documentation (inclusive of DG and consular documentation)
- Working closely with our Storemen and Warehouse Lead, ensuring all receiving KPIs and packing requirements are met
- Preparing job files for invoicing in line with contractual rates, monitoring the accuracy and status of 3rd party invoices, ensuring these are coded and passed to accounts in line with company policy
- Assisting with quotations and tender obligations
- Actively participating in QBR’s, conference calls and meetings
The successful candidate will have:
- 3-5 years in export operational experience
- Previous management experience with a strong ability to drive, develop and motivate team members
- Freight forwarding and customs experience
- Knowledge of customs and freight forwarding terminology
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent working knowledge of Customs ICS and Cargowise computer systems\
- Advanced negotiation and relationship skills
- High level customer service skills
- Positive and professional attitude
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
- High attention to detail and strong planning and organising skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Current unrestricted drivers licence

- Supply Chain Management
- Dangerous Goods by Air Accreditation
