The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Team Supervisor to join our team based in South Melbourne. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with a passion for driving efficiency and fostering a culture of excellence in the team.
Reporting to the Trading Manager, this role has the primary responsibility to provide general administration support across all areas of export and import trade.

Your responsibilities
- Supervision and administration of the Operations Team, supporting all aspects of International Trade.
- Review and approve export shipping documents to ensure the compliance with Letter of Credit/Import Country/Customer requirements.
- Liaise with Shipping Lines and Freight Forwarders on shipping rates & booking freight.
- Coordinate with DOA/shipping lines/customs brokers/warehouses/cartage companies for import cargo & seek ways of eliminating/reducing extra costs.
- Manage accounts payable functions of the division. This includes validating invoices and ensuring invoices are entered accurately.
- Assist with month end processes.
- Assist with Internal/external audits and their queries.
About you
- Willingness to work well with others, contribute ideas, and support team goals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience within an Export/Import environment or International Trade
- Experience & knowledge on Account Payable/ Receivable & other Accounting terms.
- Competent with Microsoft Office suite of products
- Proactive approach to tasks, taking ownership of responsibilities and seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate others, delegate tasks, and provide guidance when needed.
