Working with the General Manager Finance and Governance, this is an exciting opportunity where you will have responsibility for the leadership and management of a range of programs and services that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan including: Corporate Reporting and Plans, Legal Services Management, Procurement, Policy, Freedom of Information, Records, Insurance Policy and Claims, Internal Audit, Grant Management and Corporate and Council Governance.
In this role you would be responsible for:
- Fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders, prioritising a customer-centric approach.
- Developing and implementing robust risk management frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate organisational risks.
- Working with the organisation to develop capability and capacity at all levels in Council's Governance Program.
- Managing the development, maintenance and ongoing review of the Council's policies and strategic business plans to support the service delivery of Council departments.
- Delivery of the corporate reporting and planning requirements including the Municipal Plan and Annual Report.
To support your success in this role, you will have:
- The proven ability to motivate and lead, strategically influence diverse and dynamic teams and contribute to an innovative and positive working environment.
- Substantial knowledge of corporate performance reporting and/or governance issues.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and delivering internal audits, assessing, and evaluating risks and business control practices.
- A focus on achieving customer-centric results.
