Catholic Early Learning and Care (CELC) is a part of Centacare FNQ, the social service agencies of the Catholic Diocese of Cairns. CELC provides exceptional education and support to families within Far North Queensland.
Your role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team at CELC as the OSHC Assistant Coordinator for our new service at St Joseph’s OSHCare in Weipa. This role presents an opportunity to play a vital role to assist in leading a small team, while establishing the service within the community. This role will be for 25 hours per week, for After School Care, with potential for more in Vacation Care.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Nominated Supervisor to manage the day-to-day operations of the service, including completing administration, financial and people management activities.
- Building effective and healthy partnerships with team members, families and the community through effective, respectful relationships and open communication.
- Ensuring the highest standards of care are provided, in compliance with industry and national regulations.
- Supporting the Nominated Supervisor in the development and training of the OSHC educators and ensuring that direction and guidance is given when appropriate.
- Exploring new programmes/services/trends/opportunities and engaging in professional learning.
Your skills and experience
Our ideal candidate, will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent or working towards.
- A current certificate in First Aid, CPR, Asthma Education and Management and anaphylaxis is required (as per ACECQA Guidelines).
- Current Positive Notice Blue Card or the ability to obtain.
- Police Check.
And will demonstrate:
- Experience in working within a childcare environment, providing quality and engaging care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships with children and stakeholders
