About the role
Our service continues to expand and we are looking for Educators with a passion for OSHC to join our existing team. Casual position 10-15 hours that could lead to PPT for the right person.
We are a unique OSHC with a close connection to the school community and our own purpose built facility. With recent road upgrades we are 15 mins from Maroochydore.
Skills and Experience
- a positive outlook to life and a problem-solving approach to success
- previous experience working with children
- excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- an ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- an understanding of the National Quality Framework and My Time, Our Place learning framework, or willingness to learn
- the ability to support other Educators to be their best
- ACECQA 2 year approved qualifications for working in OSHC ( happy to discuss if your qualification is ACECQA approved. eg. nursing, social work, primary/secondary teacher, psychology etc. ) or willingness to start this qualification under our guidance
Position Requirements:
- Positive Notice Blue Card, First Aid, CPR and Asthma/Anaphylaxis qualifications
- Available to work rostered shifts - mornings and afternoons and holidays
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Assisting with planning and delivering programs with a high level of student and family input
- Assisting the Co-ordinator with daily operations of the service
- working closely with other educators to provide safe and exciting learning environments and activities to meet the needs of school-aged children
- communicating openly, honestly and with accuracy to all members of the OSHC community
- adhering to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework
- ensuring a risk management approach to safety is implemented
- assisting with serving healthy snacks
- maintaining a high standard of health and hygiene
- supervising children both at the service and on excursions

About Our School
Chevallum State School is a school of 500 students from Prep to Year 6. It is the only community building in Chevallum and our multi-age philosophy and practices attract families from all parts of the Sunshine Coast.
The Chevallum State School P&C operate the WOOSH (Wonderful Outside of School Hours) service at the school in a purpose-built facility within the school grounds. They offer excellent employment opportunities where team members feel valued and have input into the design and operation of the programs.
