About the roleThis temporary part-time role is available for 10 weeks from the 22nd April 2024 until the 28th June 2024. This position is responsible for assisting the registered Occupational Therapists in the implementation of therapeutic interventions to clients admitted to the In-patient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) at Calvary Health Care Kogarah (CHCK). This includes both administrative duties and direct patient care including the monitoring of equipment loans, personal care, and supervision of patients attending Occupational Therapy services.
What you bring:- Cert III / IV Allied Health Assistant qualification or relevant qualifications in Health-Related Field, relevant work experience and a willingness to work toward certification and working with children check.
- Experience working in a rehabilitation, aged or community setting.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work with minimum supervision, to organise work priorities and manage time effectively.
- Proven interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft office Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer and capacity to learn electronic health information systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles.
- Sensitivity to the psychosocial needs of older people and their carers.
- Ability to work within the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care Kogarah
