Role Purpose

We are seeking a thorough and efficient Packaging Technician to ensure the effective validation of packaging for new and ongoing projects, in line with Aesop's standards and philosophy.

In this position you will actively collaborate with packaging developers and designer during testing and development phases, diligently overseeing masterdata accuracy, and assisting in compliance-related processes.

Some things you may find yourself doing

• Work collaboratively with Packaging Developers, Designer and Project Managers to define packaging test requirements for packaging projects.
• Follow and execute packaging test plans through to final QC checks and hand over into Supply Chain.
• Perform package tests across a wide variety of materials, formats and testing technologies
• Prepare product prototypes and send user-test samples for analytical and experience evaluation.
• Deliver comprehensive technical reports of viable packaging solutions compiling records of the outcome of packaging analyses in the respective project folders.
• Develop and maintain packaging specifications to ensure that the customer, quality and performance requirements of packaging materials are maintained.
• Apply established performance specification and testing methods for new and existing packaging as required.
• Coordinate compatibility testing with the Senior Stability Chemist.
• Ensure Masterdata correctness during packaging development, manufacturing and commercialisation.
• Contribute actively to Masterdata activities, collaborating with the Supply Chain team to uphold data accuracy and consistency.
• Take a proactive role in supporting the product dossier through the meticulous completion of the packaging dossier for each active component.
• Be responsible for the thorough upkeep of all assigned packaging documents. This includes keeping technical specifications, compliance records, and test results accurate and current.
• Embrace a Continuous Improvement Mindset. Actively seek and implement better ways of working within the packaging department. This involves regularly reviewing and refining processes, from documentation practices to packaging methods, with an eye towards efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.

What we are looking for

• Tertiary qualification in Science and/or Engineering.
• Some knowledge of packaging in terms of materials, test methodologies, manufacturing, and quality assurance processes is considered advantageous but not necessary.
• Established technical problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Analytical mindset with demonstrated technical report writing skills.
• Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings and documentation.
