For this role, we are open to Hybrid work and can hire anywhere in Sydney or Melbourne AustraliaAbout the opportunityThe (AUS) Paralegal III is responsible for managing and assisting in corporate governance matters, compliance issues, and various transactions, all under the guidance of our esteemed paralegal manager and internal legal counsel. You'll also serve as the named corporate secretary for our Australian subsidiaries, ensuring seamless ASIC lodgments and maintaining productive relationships with external stakeholders.In addition to your corporate secretarial duties, you'll provide crucial support in administrative functions such as scheduling meetings, organizing files, and documentation. Effective communication and collaboration with our legal team, external counsel, and business clients will be essential components of this role.What you’ll get to do
- Managing and assisting in corporate secretarial function across Asia Pacific & Japan, including but not limited to board and corporate subsidiary governance and compliance matters, and other global corporate related matters and transactions under the direction of the paralegal manager and/or internal legal counsel.
- Acting as named corporate secretary of the Australia subsidiaries, including ASIC lodgments.
- Coordinating with external corporate secretaries, auditors and other stakeholders across Asia Pacific & Japan.
- Provide assistance with certain administrative functions, including scheduling of meetings, file organization, reporting, documentation and similar tasks.
- Interact and communicate with members of the legal department, external counsel and business clients.
- Provide support and responses to different business functions in relation to above matters.
- Provide legal support to internal legal counsel and other members of the Legal Department.
- Lawyer, Paralegal / Legal Assistant certification required as applicable in the geography in which you are located.
- Graduate diploma of Applied Corporate Governance desirable
- Minimum 8 years paralegal or relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department in the area of global corporate subsidiary governance.

- Demonstrated knowledge in the legal functional area mentioned above.
- Experience in managing secretarial function and board governance matters across APJ.
- Ability to understand legal implications of work performed.
- Requires analysis and use of initiative and independent judgment.
- Ability to successfully operate in a fast paced environment with a high degree of autonomy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Thorough knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet applications, matter management systems and Power Point presentation skills. Strong interest in using these and other tools to drive increased efficiencies and results.
