About the role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Paralegal to join our Litigation & Corporate Recovery Services team in Adelaide on a permanent full-time basis. Our office in Adelaide has one Partner and nine team members (lawyers, paralegals and support staff) who work with the other Gadens offices to support our clients on a range of different legal matters.
Your responsibilities
This position is responsible for end-to-end file management in the areas of mortgage collection and secured debt recoveries. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring matters are conducted and progressed in accordance with specific client and legislative requirements and procedures
- Liaise with clients and Mortgagors/Mortgagors’ representatives via email and telephone
- Recommend resolutions to clients to achieve appropriate conclusion of matters
- Drafting a wide range of legal documents for the litigation process, including Claims, Statements of Claim, Default Judgement documents, Deeds of Settlement, Contracts, Warrants, and Letters of Demand
- Preparation of non-legal correspondence letters
- Manage internal and external diary scheduling
- Maintaining various internal systems and platforms
- Conduct bankruptcy/company/title searches
- Identify risks, issues or concerns that may arise on matters and escalate to Partners or Solicitors as appropriate
While not essential, previous experience using Affinity and iManage would be advantageous.
