About the role and team
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced full-time Paralegal to join our Recoveries team in the Statutory Insurance Victoria section.
In this role, you will focus on the specialist area of statutory recovery for workers’ compensation claims and provide administrative support in an efficient and effective manner to the Partner and lawyers in the team.
Our Statutory Insurance Victoria section has approximately 60 people and continues to grow.
Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- preparing settlement documents, statement of claims and briefs;
- drafting letters and court documents;
- assisting with preparation of mediations and hearings;
- liaising with internal and external stakeholders; courts, clients and other parties;
- providing updates to clients on claims;
- client file maintenance including opening, sorting and closing files;
- conducting conflict checks;
- reviewing and cross checking data and allocations;
- managing appointment bookings;
- research tasks; and
- other ad hoc tasks as required.
We would like to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
- a minimum of two years’ experience as a legal assistant and or paralegal experience;
- experience in court processes and procedures;
- highly organised and ability to prioritise competing tasks;
- strong attention to detail; and
- clear and concise communication skills (written and verbal).
