About the role
An opportunity exists in our Newcastle office for a Law Student currently in their Penultimate Year of studying law (with an expected admission date in late 2025 or early 2026), to join our firm as a casual paralegal for our Workers Compensation practice.
You will be given the opportunity to be mentored by and gain experience directly from a partner and senior staff in a supportive firm and team of people.
The experience gained as paralegal will be favourably considered for recruitment into our Law Graduate Training Program upon your admission.
Our Law Graduate Training Program is a structured 12 month training program designed to ensure new graduates are provided with adequate training, resources and practical on-the-job experiences, to build on individual learning and personal development. It also includes regular social activities to ensure you are provided with an opportunity to build collegiate support amongst your peers.

About you
We seek applicants with the following criteria and qualities:
must be in their Penultimate Year of studying law (with an expected admission date in late 2025 or early 2026)
have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in Workers Compensation/personal injury law upon admission
be available to work 2 or 3 days per week
excellent oral and written communication skills
well-developed legal research skills
strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to team work
a practical, down-to-earth and commercial approach
a strong academic record
