Mining Skills Australia is currently seeking Casual, experienced site-based Paramedics for a Coal Mine near Moranbah, Queensland.
This is an excellent opportunity within a rapidly growing Australian metallurgical coal producer.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Providing rapid response to medical emergencies, assess and attend to patients with life-threatening and non-life-threatening injuries.
Patient care and D & A Testing.
Able to make quick judgments on complex clinical decisions and comfortable working under pressure.
Report to and communicate with the Site HST regarding patient care & D & A Testing
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
Instigate emergency response, resuscitation, and stabilization of injured or ill site personnel – administering resuscitation medications, perform advanced airway maneuvers, insert cannulas and more.
Assessing patients, providing non-emergency treatments, and making diagnoses.
You will be part of the clinical and site emergency response team at site providing first response to all incidents
Driving emergency response vehicles on site
7 days on / 7 days off roster (12.5 hour day and night shifts) with accommodation and meals provided
YOUR BACKGROUND:
Degree in Paramedical Science or equivalent (required)
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Paramedic within the mining industry (preferred)
RII30709 Certificate III Mines Emergency Response & Rescue (desirable)
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable)
AHPRA registration as a Paramedic (required)
Knowledge of statutory requirements, standards, codes and regulations for coal mining and emergency services. (preferred)
Current QLD Coal Mine Worker’s Health Scheme Assessment (Coal Board Medical) and Standard 11 (required)
Current Drug & Alcohol Tester Certificate (required)
