POSITION SUMMARY
- Join our Ladies and Gentlemen and oversee the daily communications and operations of the pastry section in collaboration with the Pastry Sous Chef
- Liaise daily with culinary team regarding all aspects of pastry food production, set ups & timings for daily events
- Assist the Pastry Sous Chef in ensuring the quality, consistency and production of areas of responsibility focusing on attention to detail
- Maintain organisational skills to ensure your section is clean and runs efficiently throughout each service period
- Understand guest requirements and deliver service excellence with each customer experience
- Ensure compliance to Work, Health and Safety, Hygiene and HACCP standards
- Be creative and innovative when assisting with menu design and outlet concepts
- Supervise and coordinate activities of pastry kitchen.
- Monitor stock of kitchen supplies and food.
- Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program and food products. Ensure the quality of the food items and notify manager if a product does not meet specifications.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
- Trade Industry Qualification or completion of Commercial Cookery Qualification
- Completion of Food Safety Handling Certification
- Passion for the industry
