About the Role
As the Pastry Junior Sous Chef, you will be responsible for maximizing guest satisfaction by providing the highest level of quality and consistency in the dishes produced and contributing to the overall success of the Events Kitchen, in accordance with the established Brand Standards of Hyatt International and financial goals.
This varied and dynamic role provides a chance to develop your Hospitality career within an international company; either in Australia or overseas.
Some of the responsibilities include:

• Assist in maximizing employee morale and productivity
• Prepare, create and present all dishes for client events
• Ensure all dishes from the section are prepared consistently and according to standard
• Assign responsibilities and to check employee performance
• Assist in the training and guidance of culinary employees
• Conduct monthly inventory checks on all operating equipment and supplies
• Monitor food and operating costs by reducing waste
• Evaluate local, national and international market trends

Qualifications:

• Certificate III in Pastry/equivalent, Certificate III in Commercial Cookery would be advantageous
• Previous work experience in a similar position in a fast-paced, bulk production environment
• A local certificate in Food Handling, Hygiene, HACCP or equivalent
• A passion for creating new concepts with an understanding of industry trends
• The flexibility to work on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
• Proven leadership abilities including fostering an open and supportive environment where associates can have fun, take pride in their work and be their best
