About the role
WDP has an exciting opportunity for an existing Pathology Collector or Trainee Pathology Collector to join our busy Collections department in Darwin NT. This is a permanent, part-time position responsible for collection of blood and specimens from patients in an accurate, professional and timely manner. This role is Monday to Friday with a requirement to participate in a weekend roster.
About you
To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
- Willing to learn pathology collection, or already possess a high level of sample-taking skills
- Previous demonstrated experience of delivering an exceptional customer service
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent time management skills
- A high rate of accuracy and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to interpret medical or clinical information
- Ability to work flexible hours as required, including Saturdays.
It will be considered highly advantageous for applicants to hold the following qualifications or skills
- Certificate III in Pathology Collection or able to complete 6 weeks training in Darwin
- HLTPAT005 Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse testing
- Current First aid certificate
- NT Drivers licence
Training
All of our new Pathology Collector positions will receive full training upon commencement.
