St John of God Bendigo Hospital is a 122-bed contemporary private hospital located in central Victoria providing high quality acute medical and surgical health care services for people in Bendigo and surrounding areas.
Your role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital
To ensure the efficient running of the Patient Administration Services Department including Reception, Switchboard and Admissions/Discharges.
To provide an efficient and courteous customer orientated information service to patients, visitors and staff.
The Position
- Ensure the collection of all required data and the accuracy of all information.
- Ensure patient medical record is available on admission.
- Activate patient pager system.
- Accurately and efficiently, complete admissions on IBA.
- Consider at all times the needs of the Patient and the current Privacy legislation.
- Ensure all documentation is clearly understood and signed by the Patient including claim form documentation.
- Make welcome & attend to all visitor enquires including directing people.
- Ensure the reception area is well lit, an appropriate temperature and neat and tidy at all times.
- Perform all usual Switchboard functions including answering, connecting patients to requested numbers, message taking, paging as per script.
- Ensure Stationery supplies are adequate and order as required (twice weekly).
You will have proficient knowledge of the health industry and health funds - Preferably within a hospital setting and understanding of medical terminology.
To succeed, you will have sound interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with hospital colleagues, patients, families, medical staff and members of the public.

The Benefits:
- Salary: $56,000 to $58,000 per annum, plus 11% superannuation
- Casual and permanent positions available
