Our General Services team at the Victorian Heart Hospital support all areas and includes Patient Services Assistants, Environment Services and Porter teams. Highly customer focused, these talented teams take personal pride in delivering an outstanding service to all stakeholders especially our patients and their families .
Now Hiring Patient Services Assistant
Unique opportunity for Patient Services Assistant to work across all departments at first ever flagship Heart Hospital as well be part of a wider Monash Health Support Services team. Ideal candidate will enjoy working within a committed team and who strives to consistently deliver high quality and efficient cleaning and patient support services.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Transfer and transport of patients throughout the hospital
- Use of lifting equipment, bed movers and wheelchairs
- Assisting nursing staff as requested
- Transfer and cleaning of ward equipment
- Department/Ward Cleaning
Full Time Ongoing Opportunity Now Available – 76 Hours per fortnight + ADO
Monday to Friday - Hours: 9.30am - 18.00pm
About You
A Support Services professional and experienced Patient Services Assistant you take personal pride in your work and bring out the best in people. You’re currently in hospitality or healthcare and ready to take the next step in your career, work close to home and enjoy work life balance.
To ensure your success in this role, you will have following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Previous experience as a Patient Services Assistant (Desirable)
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures.
- Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions and procedures
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Good understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
- A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team and autonomously
- A “Can Do” attitude with the capability to problem solve and troubleshoot
- A positive attitude and drive to deliver excellent customer service
- Genuine interest in working with and caring for people
- Flexible approach to working in all areas as required
