Job description

Job Description:

Respectfully - No Recruitment Agencies please

We draw on the talents of our people and collaborate with others who share our vision and values to continue the pioneering spirit of Mary Aikenhead and the Sisters of Charity. We are committed to providing compassionate and innovative care, enabling hope for those we serve.

We are actively sourcing two experienced Payroll Managers to join our Payroll Services and Systems Team within the wider SVHA People and Culture Team. Reporting to the Group Payroll Strategy and Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end Payroll activities for St Vincent’s Health Australia and to ensure the payroll output is of the highest quality both for project implementation and business as usual remits. The roles differ slightly;

The first Payroll Manager role will focus on business-as-usual payroll – critical to ensuring our success in paying our people correctly on time, every time. Essential to the success of the team is ensuring effective processes, workload and time management and most importantly, fostering a fantastic team culture to ensure a healthy work environment for all.

The second Payroll Manager role will focus on projects - with a focus on audits and supporting elements of the St Vincent’s new implementation of a new time and attendance system which is lead by our Group office (iChris and Dimensions – experience preferred though not mandatory)

These positions are Permanent Full Time and will be based in our Bowen Hills Head Office, Brisbane QLD.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Assist in the development, implementation and measurement of payroll processing and projects
  • Provide expertise and assistance to ensure delivery of prompt resolution whilst managing the process to meet the delivery standards of the payroll function
  • Work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure compliance in auditing and validating expected outcomes, reduce risk and explore continuous improvement opportunities
  • Lead your team to deliver high quality, timely and effective customer service to stakeholders at varying levels, helping resolve complex payroll queries and assist in implementing new and exciting projects within the organisation
  • Manage, update and report on records and employee files to ensure compliance with legislative requirements

Things that work for us:

  • Ability to guide and support on multiple priorities simultaneously and seamlessly while maintaining attention to detail in a high pressure environment
  • Proven experience in a high volume, pressure driven payroll environment within a similar large and complex organisation
  • Exceptional problem solving, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with your team and beyond, including hiring managers, and stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong payroll administrative skills and proficiency with various payroll systems such as iChris/Chris21
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Human Resources, Payroll or similar field - desirable
  • Current 2023 Flu Vaccine and a minimum of two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations - mandatory

Things that work for you:

  • Ability to visibly see your impact on the business and its service
  • Competitive salary packaging options
  • Discounted private health insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program for staff and their families
  • Access to the Fitness Passport (FP)
