Job description

About the role:

Ensuring the smooth operation of all aspects of payroll, including payment of salaries, annual bonuses and commissions. Also, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, taxation and superannuation, auditing, insurance, general ledger and reconciliations.

How you will add value:

  • Coordinate the timely and accurate processing of bi-monthly payroll for approximately 190 employees using the Access MicroPay system in accordance with statutory requirements and employee contracts.
  • Ensure employee-related taxes and superannuation are correctly calculated and remitted.
  • Ensure all payroll information and documentation records are received, accurate, complete and maintained as required by statute and policy.
  • Liaising with the People &Culture team to ensure all required payroll information and changes thereto are received on a timely basis.
  • Provide effective liaison with management and employees regarding the calculation of salaries and wages and all associated matters.
  • Provide information and reports, as requested, related to historical payroll for budgeting and forecasting, including other ad hoc requests.
  • Assist in monitoring staff to ensure they submit leave forms on time and correctly.

About you:

  • Knowledge of employee taxes, including Employee Taxes (ATO), Superannuation Legislation, Workers' Compensation and State Government Payroll Tax requirements (all states)
  • Experience in using Access Micropay is highly desirable
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or substantial relevant experience
  • Experience in Award interpretation
  • High level of discretion when handling sensitive information
