About The Role
This sweet opportunity is responsible for delivering an effective, efficient, compliant and accurate payroll function, and assist with general administration and accounts support within the finance team. The Payroll and Admin/Accounts Officer develops, implements and reviews processes, systems and policies that consider employment award and legal requirements and assist the accounting and administration functions of the finance team.
Responsibilities
- Interpret Industrial Agreements such as Awards, Collective Agreements, Letters of Appointment and ensure compliance. Regularly review policies through this lens.
- Manage and continually improve quality and efficiency of work in payroll. Ensure payments to wages and salary employees are made accurately and on time.
- Provide guidance, technical expertise and support on payroll matters.
- Produce and maintain employee data to undertake high level analysis and reporting. Design and distribute specialist reporting as required.
- Oversee the payroll auditing requirements and ensure that they meet internal and external procedural/legislative requirements.
- Manage Payroll and time & attendance software requirements including upgrades, testing and user access requests. Design a training support program for end users.
- Provide administration and accounts support to the finance team, accounts payable and accounts receivable, as and when required.
- Assisting with accounting journals and reconciliations as required.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- 5+ years experience with Payroll and Finance Administration
- Advanced experience with Payroll and Time and Attendance systems such as KRONOS/UKG, Sage Micropay, etc
- Solid experience in a similar role preferably within an FMCG/manufacturing industry with EBA/Award based employees
- Demonstrated advance knowledge of employment legislation and experience with interpretation of multiple awards and agreements
- Highly developed organisational skills with a high level of PC literacy
- Intermediate ERP skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Knowledge of accounting, journals and basic reconciliations
- Experience with systems integrations, payroll transitions
- Self-starter with hands-on approach & able to work autonomously and within a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to a changing environment and to work with a high level of integrity, collaboration and confidentiality.
