About the Position
Reporting to a senior member of the finance team and supporting a team of 100+ employees, this role involves managing the fortnightly payroll and providing bookkeeping support. The position offers flexibility, requiring 30 to 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities include
- Handling fortnightly payroll for approximately 100+ employees
- Ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages, expenses, and reimbursements
- Processing accounting transactions and reconciling them to the trial balance
- Onboarding new employees and maintaining payroll records
- Lodging monthly super, tax, and Workcover claims
- Reconciling credit card transactions and payroll deductions
- Assisting with month-end processes and maintaining prepayment schedules
- Managing vendor invoices, payments, and inquiries
About You
We seek a detail-oriented team player with strong bookkeeping skills and experience running payroll.
Requirements
- Qualification in bookkeeping or extensive experience in general bookkeeping
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in running complex payroll independently
- Familiarity with work timesheets, wages, and shift work payroll
- Understanding of Enterprise Agreements and Awards
- Proficiency in MS Office, *Excel, and payroll systems (*this will be tested)
- Ability to utilise manual and automated payroll systems
- Accurate data entry and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes
