We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Payroll Officer with a passion for people and a strong understanding of payroll processes to join our growing Finance Team.
As part of this role, you'll be tasked with managing end-to-end payroll operations. Your duties will include maintaining accurate salary and wage records and ensuring timely payments to all Warrina Homes staff. Collaborating closely with the Finance Manager, you'll help develop effective processes and strategies within the Payroll team. Compliance with relevant legislation and company policies is essential in this role.
What we are looking for:
- Process the fortnightly payroll for 300+ staff within the required time frame.
- Assisting staff with any pay or entitlement queries
- Reconcile salary packaging accounts and liaise with the external provider.
- Reconcile and balance payroll ledger accounts and prepare reports as required.
- Interpretation and application of Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Maintain payroll records and filing systems.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and conduct in line with Warrina Homes values and policies.
- Support, review and improve payroll processes, procedures and work practices.
- Ability to build rapport and demonstrate respectful interactions with employees and other stakeholders.
- Effective time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance working independently and well as work as part of a team to contribute to achieving the team’s objectives.
- Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as proven strengths in collaboration, networking, well organised and lateral thinking.
- High level of computer literacy. Knowledge of Humanforce and CIM would be an advantage.
The role requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Payroll / Finance.
- Extensive experience in payroll and finance
- Strong people-focussed approach.
- Proficient in computer usage including but not limited to Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, CIM)
- Demonstrated ability to review/streamline procedures, develop and implement solutions.
- Be informed of conditions of employment associated with Awards and/or Enterprise Agreement provisions.
- Assist with general employee enquiries.
- Maintain employee records and records keeping systems.
- Assist with reporting functions as required.
- Must be willing to work across all Warrina Homes sites.

Requirements:
- Valid Australian working rights.
- Current Flu Vaccination.
- COVID-19 Vaccination is recommended.
- Current Aged Care Specific Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
- Hold a valid driver’s licence.
