AddressPayroll Officer – Part Time (Brisbane or Site based - Biloela)
Batchfire Callide Management is one of Australia's largest privately owned and independent mining companies, looking to secure an experienced Payroll Officer for a Part Time permanent position based in either Brisbane or onsite at Callide Mine, Biloela.
This position is 3 days a week, Monday to Wednesday. Additional hours may be required to cover leave. Flexible work hours are available with limited work from home possibilities. Brisbane Offices are located in the CBD and Callide Mine Site is based in Biloela.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Payroll Officer, you will be responsible but not limited to the following payroll functions:
Payroll Processing:
- Timely and accurate processing of weekly and monthly payrolls from site timesheets and corporate office.
- Ensure processing aligns with Management policies and procedures, including obtaining appropriate authorisation
- Calculate and process adhoc adjustments and termination pays
- Maintain records of leave entitlements, allowances, and deductions
- Handle processing of salary sacrifice transactions
- Accurately interpret and apply relevant Enterprise Agreement
- Ability to accurately interpret individual contracts
Record Keeping:
- Maintain employee records and personal files for payroll matters
- Maintain up-to-date electronic record-keeping systems
- Managing and respond to queries
Reporting and Reconciliation:
- Prepare statutory and organisational reports for multiple entities, encompassing Payroll Tax, Long Service Leave (LSL), and Superannuation returns
- Weekly and Monthly reconciliation of payroll data with the general ledger
Essential Requirements:
- 2-4 years’ experience in a similar role within a medium to large organisation.
- Experience with Pronto preferred but not essential
- Experience and proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
