About the Role
Brisbane Girls Grammar School is expanding our payroll team and welcomes applications for a Payroll Officer on a part-time (0.6 FTE) basis.
The Payroll Officer is responsible for accurately preparing the fortnightly end-to-end payroll process and assisting staff members with their payroll queries.
The key duties include the following:
- processing timesheets and maintaining salary variations fortnightly, including allowances, commencements, terminations, leave and other relevant information
- preparing accurate reports, and correspondence and undertaking other administrative tasks related to the fortnightly payroll functions
- calculating and lodging payments to superannuation funds monthly, including notification of new and terminating employees and reconciliation of superannuation reports
- maintaining payroll files and records, including the integration of data between the payroll and HR systems and regular filing of correspondence and forms
You will also have:
- Prior experience in a similar position
- An understanding of payroll statutory requirements and Award interpretation
- Ability to deal with pressure and tight time frames while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel
- Demonstrated high-level written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to liaise professionally with stakeholders in a skillful manner, understanding the importance of confidentiality and quality customer service
- Highly professional presentation and manner
- Ability to acquire and maintain a positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
