Trader House is seeking a Part TimePayroll Officer (Monday to Wednesday) to join their established, professional team. Reporting to the Payroll & Compliance Manager, you will be based in a spacious, light-filled office in the CBD, and work alongside a wider Accounts and Finance team.
Trader House is a collective of restaurants, bars, and specialty retail stores by Melbourne-based chef, cookbook author and columnist Andrew McConnell and photographer Jo McGann. They are Gimlet at Cavendish House, Apollo Inn, Cutler & Co., Supernormal, Cumulus Inc., Marion, Builders Arms Hotel, Meatsmith Heritage Butcher and Morning Market.
Role Responsibilities:- Payroll Processing - Accurately calculate and process payroll for restaurant staff according to the applicable industry awards and employment contracts.
- Award Interpretation - Understand and interpret relevant industry awards to ensure compliance with wage rates, penalty rates, allowances, and other entitlements.
- Timesheet Management - Collect and review timesheets from employees, ensuring accuracy and completeness before processing payroll.
- Data Entry - Enter payroll data accurately and efficiently into payroll system ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Record Maintenance - Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee details, wages, deductions, and other relevant information, ensuring confidentiality and data security.
- Ad Hoc Tasks - Assist with ad hoc payroll-related tasks, including audits, reconciliations, and responding to payroll inquiries from employees and external parties.
- Experience - Minimum 2 years’ previous experience in payroll administration, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Software Proficiency - Proficient in using payroll software, particularly Micropay, Tanda, MYOB or similar systems.
- Attention to Detail - High level of accuracy and attention to detail in payroll processing and data entry.
- Communication Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, managers, and external stakeholders.
- Organisational Skills / Team player - Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide support to colleagues as needed.
