We are one of the largest subcontractors on the Peninsula, and service all of Victoria with our team of commercial roofers.

About the role:

We are looking for a People and Culture Manager who can take hold of a broad range of administrative tasks across the entire employee lifecycle. This includes administering of the end to end company payroll process.

The role is also responsible for the development and delivery of People & Culture activities and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be the first point of contact for all People & Culture general enquiries
  • Respond to employee enquiries regarding payroll, leave, policies and procedures
  • Prepare weekly payroll and monthly superannuation payments for up to 100 employees
  • Ensure all employee records are up to date for payroll and certification purposes
  • Prepare People & Culture correspondence such as probation letters, resignation acceptances etc.
  • Facilitating our plumbing apprentice program
  • Manage Work Cover claims process for injured employees and support the return to work process in accorance with legal requirements
  • Support OH&S team to communicate improvements in safety standards to the HQ, Manufacturing and site teams
  • Administrative support such as maintaining phone listing, regular safety bulletins, setting up meetings, staff gifts and other tasks
  • Facilitate goal setting meetings with HQ team and guide employee growth
  • Performing Office Manager duties
  • Review and develop our People & Culture strategy.
  • Liase with new employees for vetting, reference checks, interviews and on-boarding.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in a similar role (ESSENTIAL)
  • Experience administering payroll for a small to medium size business (80-100 employees - ESSENTIAL)
  • Experience with MYOB AccountRight
  • Knowledge of human resources principles and best practices
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information or situations and adherence to privacy standards and laws
  • Excellent written / verbal communication skills
  • Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation
