Working closely with the payroll team your role will encompass an employee headcount of 3200 being paid on a fortnightly basis, based on the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020.
As Payroll Project Officer, you'll be supporting the Payroll Manager with:
- reviewing and overseeing current payroll practices, processes, and procedures, making recommendations and writing business cases for continuous improvement.
- preparing estimates on excel templates for separations (terminations, redundancies)
- delivery of payroll remediation projects with a high emphasis on stakeholder and employee/ alumni communication including drafting and sending emails and letters and following up on the same.
- UAT testing and parallel runs during new payroll system and other payroll supporting system implementations. This includes performing testing related activities of the payroll systems environment to ensure that any system change has been configured correctly and is operating in accordance with payroll requirements.
- extracting and analysing reports where required.
To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in payroll processing (Chris21 is preferred) including in the testing environment.
- Strong understanding of separations (particularly redundancy calculations)
- Demonstrated experience in payroll processing and the ability to enter, modify and extract data accurately to assist with the management of client data
- Intermediate computer skills and competent with Microsoft products
- Sound knowledge of government processes is desired.
