We are currently seeking a talented Payroll Supervisor to join our dynamic team.
About the Role:
As a Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll processing for our organisation. You will ensure accurate and timely payment of wages to employees while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. Working within the team to provide guidance, training, and support to ensure departmental objectives are met effectively.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- End-to-end payroll processing.
- End of month payroll tasks – payroll tax, superannuation, child support, leave liability journals.
- Assist with payroll administrators with the preparation of payrolls (data entry, leave entry, timesheet analysis) using the Time and Attendance system.
- Assist with the management of our payroll email inbox (investigating and answering pay queries, separation certificates etc.)
- Oversee payroll system maintenance and enhancements, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and company requirements.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and tax laws, ensuring compliance and timely adjustments.
- Supervise payroll staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Prepare payroll reports and analysis for management review and decision-making.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of payroll data and records.
About you:
- Proven experience (5 years) in payroll processing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel; experience with (HR3, Time Target, World Manager) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with HR functions such as employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, and onboarding preferred.
- Injury management experience – desirable.
