Piacentini has a rich 80-year history of operations throughout Australia, supporting the mining and resources sectors with mining and earthmoving services.
About the Opportunity
Due to significant growth over the recent years, Piacentini & Son require a Payroll Supervisor to support the end-to-end operation of the payroll function ensuring accurate payroll processes occur in an efficient and timely manner for our 1000 people workforce. This is a newly created role, reporting to the General Manager of People & Culture.
We are experiencing significant growth and change including implementing a new time and attendance system in the first half of 2024, and the integration of this to our ADP payroll system. The Payroll Supervisor will provide input into this project, which is run by external consultants, and will be a key stakeholder to ensure its success.
The Payroll Supervisor has one direct report, and will also oversee other key areas in the People & Culture function, such as the employee benefits framework.
About You
- 3-5 years payroll leadership experience, ideally in a multi-site operation
- Highly developed administrative and end-to-end payroll processing skills with a sound understanding of the functionality of ADP Payroll. (Or similar)
- Strong understanding of employment law in relation to employee entitlements, tax legislation and superannuation legislation.
- Ability to interpret Enterprise Agreements and employment contracts for payroll related matters.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain successful and collaborative working relationships.
- Intermediate computer literacy skills (MS Office) with a key focus on MS Excel.
- High attention to detail with the ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies and provide recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
