About the position 

We are seeking an enthusiastic people person responsible for coordinating and administering Learning and Development activities across the organisation to build capability.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Support corporate leaders with identifying training needs and developing relevant training plans.
  • Work with the Advisor and Executive Business Partners to deliver training programs that build organisational capability and assist Leadership development.
  • Work with the Project Officer, Talent Acquisition to embed onboarding and induction tools and resources to support the recruitment process.
  • Promote and educate key stakeholders across the organisation in Learning and Development activities, systems and processes.
  • Develop, update, review and implement Learning and Development processes, tools and resources that engage key stakeholders.
  • Explore opportunities with training providers to ensure Council’s receives best value for money and build an annual training calendar to support leadership, organisational and mandatory training programs.
  • Undertake administrative functions including processing Learning and Development requests, registering participants, distributing materials, room bookings and catering, program evaluation and records management.
  • Manage Learning and Development reporting and data analytics using the Human Capital Management (HCM) system. 
  • Process Study Support and training applications, including processing requests, financial reimbursements, payment of invoices and associated records management.

About you

  • Certificate level qualifications in HR or a Health and Safety related discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience in applying contemporary HR practices, in particular Learning and Development.
  • Strong experience in providing high level HR administrative support services within a diverse organisation.
  • Strong understanding of learning management systems and records management systems and processes. 
  • Sound planning and prioritising skills and meeting competing deadlines. 
  • Sound initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Well established communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong positive relationships and communicate with of all levels of management, staff and stakeholders both verbally and in written form.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical and police check.
