As we continue to invest in our capabilities, we are hiring a People and Culture Business Partner to join Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) on a permanent full – time basis.
This role will be based in Northern NSW and support two regions - Northern NSW and Canberra Region.
About the role:
We have an excellent opportunity for a People and Culture Business Partner to join the People and Culture team.
The role entails a broad range of responsibilities including advising on employment matters, supporting and coaching leaders on HR best practice, assisting leaders understand employment regulatory requirements, looking for opportunities for continuous improvement and innovative practice, and supporting the business through complex people management matters.
As a trusted advisor to the business, you will:
- Advise stakeholders on matters relating to HR practices, employment and provide practical people management advice to ideally resolve issues at a local level.
- Interpret and implement HR policies, undertake an investigatory role relating to internal complaints and disciplinary issues, and partner with the Workplace Health & Safety team on employee health-related issues.
- Contribute to the wider People and Culture strategic workforce plan.
- Focus on case management of employee matters and liaise with relevant specialist teams and the business to provide appropriate and consistent advice.
- Support the HR Administration with People and industry compliance obligations.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with union representatives.
Selection Criteria:
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent residency status essential (We do not offer sponsorship for this position).
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Employment Law, Human Resources, Employment Relations, or related discipline.
- Current knowledge of Enterprise Agreements, Awards and Legislation
- Demonstrable capability in the management of employee relations case management including investigations and disciplinary matters.
- Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes with stakeholders through effective consultancy.
- Proven capability in providing timely advice, together with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Current Driver's License.
- Comfortable travelling to Facilities in Northern NSW and Domestically to Canberra on a frequent basis.
- Aged Care, Health Care or Not – For Profit experience desirable although not essential.
