Job Description
This is a unique opportunity to join TAL as a People and Culture Manager. Leading a team of five People and Culture Consultants, you will oversee the management of employment relation cases, providing guidance and direction, with a strong focus on improving the overall people experience and uplifting leader capability.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Partnering & Consulting, you will provide advisory support to people leaders across the business as well as supporting our HR Business Partners with human resource 'lifecycle' activities.
In this role you will:
  • Develop and deliver the tier 2 strategy and operational planning and execution with a focus on driving improvement and leading change.
  • Ensure the effective allocation of consulting work, cyclical tasks and project work for the People and Culture Consultants, ensuring balanced share of workload and variety of work.
  • Develop and execute ongoing technical and professional development to the People and Culture Consultants to ensure opportunity for growth and succession planning.
  • Provide complex policy interpretation and advice on employment related legislation to the wider business and People and Culture Service Desk.
  • Provide people advisory support and consultancy to People Leaders around human resource 'lifecycle' activities (e.g performance management, retention, promotion, job design, employee development, pay and benefits, resourcing, workers compensation etc).
  • Support People Leaders in the design and delivery of return to work plans for returning employees including the delivery of appropriate documentation to WHS Manager and any other required external bodies.
  • Manage the delivery of team projects and oversight of consulting resourcing and work allocation across projects and case management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of cases including reporting on insights, trends and providing recommendations.
  • Take ownership of the People and Culture Case Management portal (ServiceNow) with a focus on enhancements and data quality.
Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and management of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to own and manage complex employment relations cases through the relevant People and Culture processes, policies, and employment legislation
  • Ability to effectively prioritise, coordinate and allocate workloads
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse data and build valuable insights
  • Demonstrated ability to work within an agile and fast-paced environment, whilst navigating through ambiguity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills, with the ability to translate technical issues or information clearly to stakeholders
  • Solid knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs and experience working with a HRIS, ideally Workday
  • Strong knowledge and ability to interpret industrial instruments including, but not limited to, the Fair Work Act 2009, National Employment Standards, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
