West Daly Regional Council is seeking a dedicated People and Culture Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes and contributing to the development of a positive workplace culture. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Fair Work regulations, the West Daly Enterprise Agreement, and internal policies.
- Create and maintain organized HR documentation, including policies, procedures, and employee records.
- Manage Working with Children Checks, Northern Land Council Permits, and Police Checks.
- Lead recruitment efforts, coordinating all stages of the process for efficiency.
- Collaborate with the People and Culture Business Partner to develop recruitment strategies and candidate selection criteria.
- Create employment contracts and contribute to the development of Position Descriptions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, facilitating their smooth transition into the organization.
- Lead the onboarding process, providing essential information and resources to new employees.
- Facilitate the offboarding process for departing employees.
- Assist in resolving minor employee relations issues and escalate complex matters when necessary.
- Support the development and implementation of training programs for employees.
- Assist in the administration of performance reviews and feedback processes.
- Coordinate staff events such as NAIDOC Week and R U OK Day.
- Generate reports on workforce data, providing insights into HR metrics and compliance.
- Assist in drafting and issuing various employment-related letters.
- Be willing to travel to West Daly Region as required
