About Us

West Daly Regional Council is seeking a dedicated People and Culture Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes and contributing to the development of a positive workplace culture. Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Fair Work regulations, the West Daly Enterprise Agreement, and internal policies.
• Create and maintain organized HR documentation, including policies, procedures, and employee records.
• Manage Working with Children Checks, Northern Land Council Permits, and Police Checks.
• Lead recruitment efforts, coordinating all stages of the process for efficiency.
• Collaborate with the People and Culture Business Partner to develop recruitment strategies and candidate selection criteria.
• Create employment contracts and contribute to the development of Position Descriptions.
• Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, facilitating their smooth transition into the organization.
• Lead the onboarding process, providing essential information and resources to new employees.
• Facilitate the offboarding process for departing employees.
• Assist in resolving minor employee relations issues and escalate complex matters when necessary.
• Support the development and implementation of training programs for employees.
• Assist in the administration of performance reviews and feedback processes.
• Coordinate staff events such as NAIDOC Week and R U OK Day.
• Generate reports on workforce data, providing insights into HR metrics and compliance.
• Assist in drafting and issuing various employment-related letters.
• Be willing to travel to West Daly Region as required
