The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced People and Culture Officer to join our People and Culture team here at Retail Food Group. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and implementing our people strategies and initiatives, with a focus on fostering a positive and engaging work environment, enhancing employee experience, and driving organisational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Head of People and Culture to develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that align with the company’s strategic objectives and promote a positive workplace culture
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on various People and performance matters, including performance management, employee relations and career development
- Oversee employee engagement activities and initiatives, including surveys, feedback sessions, and recognition programs
- Update and maintain accurate employee information
- Assist with all payroll related queries in consultation with the People and Culture Advisor and Payroll Manager
- Manage the new starter process including issuing of employment agreements in Employment Hero, following up of paperwork and ensuring completeness and accuracy at all times
- Manage any changes to employment conditions through appropriate paperwork and notification to relevant department heads
- Keep abreast of all Industrial changes including specific changes of the Awards Company Stores operate under
- Assist the Workplace Health and Safety Officer in the process for all Company Store WorkCover and Rehabilitation enquiries
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organisation
- Strong understanding of Awards, Fair Work and WHS Legislation
- Previous experience with Payroll processing assistance
- High level of experience in Microsoft Office Suite
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Previous experience with JobAdder, Employment Hero or KeyPay is an advantage
